Tony Allen

75 footer).  The crazy thing was that even without Pierce, the Celtics were right in it until Tony Allen clanked the first of two free throws that could have tied the game in the closing seconds, but this was back in the days of Drew Gooden, Larry Hughes and Damon Jones, so I guess that's why.

Maybe the other guy (pretty sure it was Tony Allen tonight) ran the offense wrong, but either way I don't like Eddie's reaction.  Combined with his T for complaining after a foul call (which was questionable, but none the less), I'm not thrilled with Mr. House.  I like him better when he isn't getting minutes, so when he DOES get in the game he just hustles and hits threes.  I say we play Pruitt just to see if it fixes House's attitude.

Then, if Bill Walker turns an ankle in January or Tony Allen needs to sit a few games in February, you have a dynamic player available in his place.

I guess it just boils down to this: What was the risk with keeping him around? He is presumably only going to get better and healthier, and if he plays more than 10 games this year the Trailblazers have to pick up his salary, anyway. If there's no risk, financially or otherwise, why not see if a 26-year old who was projected as a stud can regain some of the swagger that earned him all that attention? I don't get it.

Everyone says Pruitt has the makings of a solid point guard, but we'll never know if he doesn't see the floor. Ditto for Walker, who's got the potential to be Ryan Gomes with a sneer. But only if he's given a chance.

limited role.  If Boston doesn’t add another point guard to the rotation, then House and Tony Allen will be forced to play outside their comfort zones, which lead to a ridiculous level of gut wrenching, head scratching moments last season that may or may not directly contribute to ulcers in my near future.

forts of the other Celtics like Rajon Rondo, Eddie House, James Posey, Kendrick Perkins, Leon Powe, Tony Allen, Glen Davis, PJ Brown and the alien from the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull… er, I mean Sam Cassell (don’t forget Scal and Scott Pollard!).  Each and every one of those guys, especially Scalabrine, made contributions to the team and were vital parts of this championship run.  The Celtics are all about teamwork, sacrifice and selflessness, and it won them a title.  Highlighting just the three all stars as the contributors goes against every key characteristic of the Celtics’ identity.
