Sasha Pavlovic

season, I still like them to come out of the East this year, providing that Mike Brown doesn't send Sasha Pavlovic to take out Kevin Garnett's knee (still bitter about that Chiefs game, eh?).  Even without Posey, the Celtics will still defend, make the extra pass, and have three first rate scoring options to get a big bucket down the stretch.  All of those things, combined with another year of playing together to get even more comfortable with each other's styles, should make the Celtics the favorites to win the East, despite some of the earth shaking moves made by other teams in the Conference.

y, but he will also eat up a bunch of minutes that would otherwise have to be given to the likes of Sasha Pavlovic (shiver in disgust).

Now, what the Cavaliers should do (if they can) is resign Delonte West to a mid-level deal and pair him and Williams in the backcourt, which gives Cleveland two reliable ball handlers and two players that can compliment each other very well.  While West has struggled with his consistency at times, there is no way that he gets worse by having more pressure taken off of him by the presence of Mo Williams.  Now, Delonte can defend, slash and spot up from distance as a solid third or fourth option, a role that he should excel in.  Additionally, he’ll get to play shooting guard instead of the point, which should place him even more firmly inside his comfort zone and allow him to simply react and play basketball with LeBron and Mo shouldering the bulk of the playmaking load.

Devin Brown and Sasha Pavlovic should be easy covers as well, as they are both extremely flawed and incomplete basketball players.

As for LeBron, I'm not sure that it's possible to cover him effectively.  The Celtics will certainly try, however it's a tall order that nobody has been able to fill all season long.  James Posey will definitely see a lot of time guarding LeBron, and hopefully he can use his skills and talents to at least take James out of his rhythm a little bit.  We could also see Garnett on james a bit, though I doubt if KG will really be asked to pick LeBron up at the three-point line and guard him all the way to the basket.  Still, I imagine that Garnett will play a crucial role in defending and containing LeBron James on the basketball court.  Although LeBron has continually beat opposing doubleteams because of his height and tremendous court vision, I think that the Celtics could use the double team situationally to derail Cleveland's vaunted offensive game plan of "give the ball to LeBron and watch him score."
