Kevin Pritchard

were an English major, do I need to hyphenate "crazy-ass"?) deal Blazers General Manager Kevin Pritchard will swing during this year's NBA Draft.
Pritchard, who must have come out of the womb wheeling and dealing, has made ten draft day trades in the last two years that have netted him some of basketball's finest young prospects (Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge) while simultaneously cutting out some of the worst clubhouse cancers in this league (Zach Randolph). In just a few short seasons, Pritchard has taken the Blazers from an irrelevant team toiling in obscurity to a semi-intriguing, slightly less obscure team full of young talent and good character.

hat benefits them either this season or down the road, it's tough to say at this point.
If Kevin Pritchard wants to go local this year, he could take a stab at Kevin Love, who should still be available when the Blazers pick. I like Love as a player, and I've heard lately that he's taken some big strides to improve his athleticism and conditioning, which make a player as skilled and fundamentally sound as him seem very enticing. Unfortunately, the Blazers are doing pretty well in the front court and don't need much help there, so I'd say that the Blazers won't be taking Love in this year's draft.

ifferent things, but none of them are complete enough to do it all. If only Nate McMillan and Kevin Pritchard could somehow fuse Rodriguez, Jarrett Jack and Steve Blake together, they'd have an elite point guard who could shoot, slash, make plays, finish at the rim, and get to the line. I like the name Franken-point for this unholy hybrid, you could also just call it Chris Paul II.
