Rajon Rondo should bake a nice cake with the words "thank you for trading Chauncey Billups" written in icing on the top and send it to Detroit Pistons GM Joe Dumars.  It wouldn't hurt if all of the Celtics helped (even Scalabrine), but Rondo in particular should take the lead on this one.  Stop scratching your heads and looking confused and don't ask why, you should know very well by now that some rambling, tangential diatribe of an explanation is forthcoming...

 I also don't have to tell you how much Chauncey Billups meant to the Pistons and all of the things he did to help make Detroit the Eastern Conference monster that they are.  I also don't have to tell you about Detroit's struggles since losing that heartbreaker of a Finals to the San Antonio Spurs.  I won't bring things to a painful point here, but just think about the kind of team the Pistons really are.

es off to somebody else so they can take a horrible shot with the shot clock at one.

I would take Chauncey Billups over Iverson any day of the week.  Billups controls the game the way a point guard should.  If the team needs him to take a shot because it is the right play, Billups can step up in the clutch and make that shot.  If Billups is better off dishing the ball to another player with a better shot at the hoop, he will do exactly that.

ith the physical style of play in the NBA from larger point guards (Deron Williams, Baron Davis and Chauncey Billups) and from opposing big men on the interior as well.  Additionally, it has been widely reported that Augustin will struggle to defend anyone at the NBA level with his current skill set, and nobody is projecting this kid to develop into a serviceable defender at one of the NBA’s most critical positions anytime soon.
