Rajon Rondo
Rajon Rondo is in the carpool lane on the highway to superstardom. As third year point guard, Rondo doesn't have the instinct or raw talent of CP3, or the strength of DWilliams. But what he has that the other two don't have... mentors. KG, Pierce, the late James Posey and Sam Cassels. Those guys have all made an impression on the ever improving Rondo. His biggest dissentors last year ragged on him for not having a jumper, so what does he do? Spends the entire playoffs draining wide open jumpers and changing the way teams defend him. He is deceptive. Long limbs, quick feet, and subtle fakes make him VERY difficult to defend. My guess is he will continue to be underrated nationally, but in New England hes becoming a star. We've seen signs of his greatness. His huge dunk in the playoffs as he got crushed by a defender. My prediction, if he gets the chance, where the team needs him to produce numbers like 20-10-8, he could easily slide into an MVP season in the next 5 years. My only credentials for making such a bold prediction- Dustin Pedroia, MVP 2008: I called it during his first month with the squad, when he was hitting less than a hundred and it looked like the bat was going to pull him to the ground. Assesing talent isn't a science... its an artform.
