The Boston Celtics have already clinched the Atlantic division with a 51-17 record, but I am still bleeding green!  I don't know if it's panic mode yet, but we have lost 3 out of 4, and I know what you're going to say, ''We are hurt"! But that is no excuse for the green to lose to Milwaukee. With only 15 games remaining this season and Cleveland with a 3 1/2 game lead on us and Orlando only a half game back -- What the buck??!

That scares me big time, and after watching last year's playoffs where we had to go 7 every time (even against Atlanta because everyone wants us out) and win it at the garden, it will be a lot harder without that #1 seed.  I think with a run of our own and a little help from San Antonio or the Magic, the third to last game of the season could determine how the playoffs line up!  We have news that Kevin Garnet will be ready to go Friday against the injured Spurs; until then we have to battle the Chicago Bulls tonight.  The C's are only favored by 2. We need this win.  Next will be the rematch with the Miami Heat who we just lost to in Miami 107-99 where Wade was on fire, but this time it's Paul Pierce's time to shine!!  Then KG will be back, and it's time for our run that will take us to the Finals for back to back years!!!!!  Bring on LA!  It will go to six. Celtics hang their 18th banner, and i believe this is just the beginning of another Celtics dynasty !!!!!!

The Chicago Bulls came out onto the court last night wearing what appeared to be the Celtics alternative home jerseys -- the only difference was that they said Bulls. Do they want to be us? Of course they do, we are the champs!  So they tried to confuse us by wearing our colors, and it worked.  The Bulls scored like us on a normal night...and our defense?

What defense? They scored 127 points last night; the most the Celtics have allowed since 2005.  Got to give it to the Bulls. They gave us everything they had and we took it, until Doc got a technical foul with 54 seconds left in the game and the Celtics down 3. After the free throw and the ball -- game over!  It was a horrible call and Doc himself was as angry as I have seen him in years, with a good right to be. Everyone's out to get the champs, and last night that included the Bulls and Referee B. Kenny. That loss could cause us to be out of the running for the one seed for sure, and now we have to battle for the two seed against Orlando which is not going to be easy. Now with Powe going down last night we are really hurting. No big men inside and Perk and Moore haven't stepped into Mr. Garnet's shoes, but who could?  Tomorrow we rematch the Heat who we just lost to last week.  This is when we need Pierce and Allen to step up and take charge because Rondo and House have been getting the job done. This should be a Dwayne Wade vs Paul Pierce show, so tune in.  And let's get a win tomorrow night, get KG back on Friday, and go on a run into the playoffs. 1 seed or not, we are still the champs!!!!

Tonight the Boston Celtics play the Miami Heat in what should be an epic battle.  This will be a duel between Paul Pierce and Dwayne Wade which should have us on the edge of our seats.  I'm anticipating this to be a flashback of game 7, Eastern Conference Finals, when Mr. Larry Bird scored 20 points in the 4th to outdo Dominique Wilkins and take the Cs to the finals -- after which all of Boston erupted!

With Miami looking like a 5 seed, the Celts need to show them who's the boss now, before we meet them in the playoffs.  Last night's loss hurt, but as my boy, M.I.T., says, "It doesn't matter. We are not healthy, and we need to rest up!"  Either way, wins are big right now, and the more home games in the playoffs the better because they have us right there rooting for them like no other city in the world can do!!!!

The roar that the garden made when Kevin Garnett came out dressed and ready to go for tonight's game sent chills throughout Boston.  This was an intense game, and you could see the fire that KG brings onto the court and what the C's have been missing for the last 15 games (losing 4-6 in that time).  He played only 14 minutes, but scored 10 points and 4 rebounds and the intensity of the defense was back.  The Celtics blocked 6 shots last night which led to a score on our end each time in this really close game.  The rest of the team looked on top of it's game with Rondo making great passes and great D, Big Perk with 5 blocks, Allen scoring 19 points, and Pierce holding them all together with a big 12 rebounds and 9 points.  And a great assist at the end of the game to Glen "Big Baby" Davis for a huge jumper which led to the win with a little help from Tony Parker missing 4 free throws at the end of the game.

What a basketball game -- the Celtics down by 16 points in the third quarter and to have the ending we did, CRAZY!  The Celts not only had to battle Dwight Howard and his Orlando Magic (who are fighting against us for the 2 seed), but last night the Cs had to battle the referees as well.

With Doc only playing KG to his limited 15 minutes, it's always going to be hard to beat the Magic's size.  But the C's were not going down without a fight and closed that 16 point lead to a tie game with 1 minute left. Then it was anyone's game.  That must scare  Orlando either way, knowing our big man's on the bench and the C's can still hang with them.  Anyway, the Celtics had a couple of opportunities to take the lead but did not take advantage of them until 15 seconds left and the clock ticking, C's down 2. Pierce "THE TRUTH" drives right at D. "Superman" Howard and their bodies collide in what looks like an obvious foul on Howard, but  NO CALL!!  We ended up getting another shot, but with only 1 second left, and it wasn't even close, but I believe that the C's made a great effort to fight back and make this an interesting game.  This game also shows us that the C's can beat them at their house and that means a lot since the playoffs are 11 games away and mathematically we are .006% behind them, which is not much. Hopefully the C's can go on a little run and claim that 2 seed; only time will tell.

The kid Glen "Big Baby" Davis had to fill a big pair of shoe's tonight by starting for Mr. Kevin Garnett who has now been listed as "day to day." Glen Davis "Big Baby," who got the name from going to LSU where he was baby Shaq taking the LSU Tigers to the Final Four in 2006 (and also being named SEC player of the year), stepped up huge tonight.  Davis was definitely the player of the game not only by scoring 19 points with 12 rebounds, but also because of the defense he played -- amazing!  Had 2 blocks and a steal, but covered his man like KG would have!

The Celts' bench was also very impressive with House and Marbury shooting 9 out of 13 leading to 25 points.  This is what is great about the C's; someone goes down or is off, someone else picks up the slack. That's what the C's will need in the playoffs.  This was  what the fans need to see except that at one point in this game the C's were up by 20 but, in the last few minutes it looked like we let up. The next thing you know the Hawks are only down 4 with under a minute?  Closing out games needs to be a stronger point for the C's and with that I don't see any other problems with our team.  Either way Pierce hit his free throws, and we beat a playoff bound Atlanta Hawk team who looked like they were out for blood 99-93 in Atlanta.  The Celtics come home now and play a 20-51 Oklahoma Thunder team on Sunday night at 7, so stay tuned loyal fans.

Big Baby: Triple Double, 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 stitches -- this was a good day for the Boston Celtics. They are now home after a long road trip, and as Doc says, " this is big because we need a break to get our legs back underneath us."  The C's played the Oklahoma City Thunder in what started as a close game until the C's stepped up the D and held OKC to 39 points in the second half after having a tie game at the half.  For the 3rd straight game Glen "Big Baby" Davis was in the starting lineup for 'the day by day' Kevin Garnett,  and Big Baby left his sweat out on the court as well as some blood.

Davis has been putting 110 % into every play he is involved in.  Davis scored 19 points with 10 rebounds and took an elbow to the head from Kevin Durrant which led to 10 stitches but that did not slow him down at all.  Captain Paul Pierce also stepped up as usual and led the game with 27 points, 20 of which came in the 2nd half.  Rondo and Marbury combined for 19 assists and House scored 16 off the bench which is going to be a huge factor come playoff time!   The final of the game was 103-84 making the C's 55-19 still .600 behind the Magic for the 2 seed.  If the Boston Celtics keep up the energy they played with today and give our starters a rest, they should be looking great heading into the 09 playoffs.  The C's next game is Wednesday, April Fool's Day against 33-40 Charlotte Bobcats at 7:30 so stay tuned; this is only going to get better.  Lets Go Celts!

Paul Pierce is not only too much for OKC, but he gives away tickets via Twitter. So cool, and that's why he's the man and the captain.  After being signed up on Twitter for only 24 hours (@paulpierce34), he offered free tickets to the first five fans wearing Pierce jerseys in the parking lot at 4:30 before the OKC game. You needed to know the secret password: "the Truth."

As he wrote, he showed up exactly at 4:30 in his Range Rover, and there were about ten faithful fans waiting, all yelling "The Truth." Mr. Pierce rolled down the window and  hooked up these loyal fans with his box seats and then went onto the court where he not only gave those fans, but all fans, a true show!  He scored 27 points, 20 of which came in the 2nd half being too much for the Thunder, awesome! Boston is behind their players and when they go out of their way like that it makes it all worth it no matter what happens.  Next game is Wednesday, April Fool's Day, 7:30 pm vs Charlotte Bobcats. KG is said to be returning Friday night against Atlanta and his knee sounds like it's getting better; Doc is just trying to rest it. So keep doing your thing Big Baby, and the C's should be good.  Let's go C's.
