Boston Celtics: The Truth is told in the Red Sea

The Boston Celtics came out last night in a sea of red like they were at the Garden, and they played like Celtics' Nation is used to. Up by 22 at the half, the Chicago Bulls' fans booed their team as they walked to the locker room --something that Cs' Nation would never do (and that's what makes us a Nation, by the way).

Cs defense showed up big time holding Gordon and Rose 3-15 in total in the first half and holding the Bulls to 37 points in total. Pierce was on fire scoring 18 (7-9) points in the first half; he came out with determination in his eyes telling us that the Truth was about to be told. Finishing the half with great energy on the floor, we saw  Rondo score 16 points and snatch 8 rebounds, keeping up the pace that Cs' Nation is now used to.

We've been waiting to see a half like this! After that tremendous start in the first half, Cs came out with a repeat in the second half and sent the Bulls fans on their way. Our defense finally played a complete game holding them to 86 points in a 106-86 victory.

Pierce, Ray Ray, Rondo, Perkins and Baby all came together and played the kind of ball we know they can play. In Celtics' style, we rested our starters and let the bench come out to spread the work. M. Moore lined it up with 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 huge blocks; Marbury knocked it down with 13 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists. House brought it home with 8 points, 1 rebound, and 1 steal. Scal's big comeback came in good fashion with 3 points added to the total. The Cs have their home court advantage back, and as my boy Bobafet says, "That could be a big deal, 'cause you never know what the referees can do, and it's always safer to be at home!"

I believe, as do my boys BillyBob and the professor, that if Pierce keeps playing like he did last night, this series could be over before we know it. Pierce led the charge against the Bulls with 24 points, Rondo wrapped it up with 20 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assist, and 5 steals, (4 assists short of his 3rd triple double). Big Baby rocked out with 14 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, 6 steals, and 5 blocks (amazing line). Ray scored 18 and Perkins was sweet on the glass (7 rebounds and two blocks).

So now we're up in the series 2-1. Sunday's game could be the game that breaks the Bulls' back and gives the Celtics a 3-1 lead which would make Boston's day. Game time Sunday 1:00PM EST; can't wait, keep it going Celts!!!
