So we have a tied series with game 3 tonight in Chicago where the Bulls have a home record of 28-13 this year and the Cs lost to them 127-121 in our only visit to their house this season. While that may not bode well for tonight's game, I think there were extenuating circumstances we need to consider: it was St. Patty's Day and the Bulls(wanting to be us) wore the Celts' green. I believe that messed with our heads. It was not cool.
Also, in that loss, Doc Rivers was ejected, and he said it was the worst Tech he ever got and the referees were horrible during that game!! Just so you know, we won both meetings during the regular season at our house, and you saw how much that really meant, so hopefully the refs will be fine and fair tonight because the Cs are looking to take back their home court advantage. This is the playoffs -- a whole new beast!!
The Cs did receive some more bad news this week in that now the C's sixth Man of the Year, Leon Powe, is now out for the rest of the season(playoffs) leaving the Cs with only three big men; starters Big Man Perkins, Glen Big Baby"ticket stub" Davis, and M. Moore coming off the bench. So I believe that Doc will play Pierce at the 4 spot here and there and go small with Rondo, House, and Ray Ray. Meanwhile, Scalabrine should be back any day now and if T. Allen and Marbury get going and even Walker and Puritt give us a little something from the bench, the Cs should be ok.
As my Homegirl Rach said "this reminds me of last year's 1st round playoffs versus the Hawks" and I've got to say it does feel the same: scary, tough but Celts nation feels like we can take this series, just like we took that one, so one game at a time! Let's go Celts, throw your Jersey on and get ready for tonight 8:00. As my boys MIT and the Professor would say, Feel the green!
