I know it's only the pre season, and I know Tom Brady hasn't played a snap... However I am still very concerned. I have read some blogs on this site and I have talked to friends and family of mine all of which say the pre season means nothing, and the Patriots 0-3 record is not a big deal. I agree to an extent, but for the most part I do not agree.

Look at what we have learned so far. The Patriots offense is not much without Tom Brady. Matt Cassel is a joke and has been for years, Kevin O'Connel is just a rookie, and Matt Gutierrez could be a solid back up but isn't that reliable. Even with Gutierrez, I still feel that if Brady goes down at all in the regular season there is no denying the Pats are in trouble. Let's also look at what we learned so far on the defensive end. THEY HAVE NO SOLID CORNER BACKS! Ellis Hobbs is ok but he isn't a number 1 corner, and guess what we have no other corner back to step in and be the number 1 guy. Then again we haven't learned about the corner back situation in the pre season, we knew this after Assante Samuel left the team.

Continue reading "Pre Season Problems For The Pats"

So the pre-season begins tonight. To be totally honest, after the Patriots lost the Super Bowl last year I said I would not be interested in Football untill the start of the regular season. Well I am happy to say I was wrong. Watching training camp for the past week or so I have gotten so amped for Football that I am actually excited for pre-season games.

To most people the pre-season is meaningless, but I think this Patriots pre-season is very important. The defense is so young and they need alot of in game action, and the pre-season is the perfect place to get it. I for one have my doubts on the Patriots defense mainly because of the corner back situation. The D-line and line backer core still seems very solid, and Rodney Harrison still has some left in the tank at saftey. However the corners really need to put in alot of work this pre-season. I know Tom Brady and the offense can score tons of points so the defense will get alot of breaks, but I don't want the offense to have to score every time they have the ball just to keep the score even. Opossing teams Quarterbacks are going to target the Patriots secondary and they should. It's a young core with not much experience, and that's why this pre-season is a great test for the Patriots.

Continue reading "Important Pre-Season For The Patriots"

Everybody has there own opinion about Manny being traded, especially people here in Boston. The bottom line is he is gone, and I for one am happy. Forget about the fact he was a great hitter, a pain in the neck, and that he was basicly dumped and not traded. Lets look at the rest of the season for the sox.

I think we can all agree that the Devil Rays wont stay in first place too much longer. The Sox have been on Tampa's heels for most of the season, and for most of the season the Sox haven't even played that well. Now you have the always dangerous Yankees who are on the heels of the Red Sox and who just made some big power house moves to enhance the team.

I personally wished the Red Sox made a bigger move than trading Manny for Jason Bay but that did not happen. Don't get me wrong I like Jason Bay and I think he is a good solid player that has already fit in pretty well, but the Sox need a bullpen for god sakes. You can't have your starters pitch 8 innings then bring in Papelbon. They need some set up guys and some serious relief. It doesn't appear as if that's gonna happen this year.

Continue reading "Enough About Manny "

When Kevin Garnett missed his first game this year due to injury, I thought it would just be a few games that he would miss. After the first week without KG, I started to become a little nervous on when he would return. Alot of people thought the Celtics would hit a serious road bump without the main star.

Instead, the celtics only lost two games and had two huge wins over Dallas And San Antonio, which were two teams many people thought the Celtics couldn't handle even with KG. Turns out they were wrong. With the bench being as productive as they have been all year, and with a worn out Ray Allen still playing solid enough ball, they turned to the team captain Paul Pierce to lead this team just like he has been for what seems like forever.

Continue reading "The Celtics Run Without KG"

When the Patriots picked up Randy Moss, Wes Welker, and Donte Stallworth in the off-season I predicted 19-0. After the spy gate incident I felt even more confident about an undefeated season. What happened then? The Patriots steam rolled teams around the league on their way to smashing records including the first ever 16-0 regular season.

I may have been a little cocky in thinking this team could go undefeated after just signing a couple players in the off season, but I just had this feeling. This was a team who was controlling the NFL this decade and who came so close to a Super Bowl game last season. All they needed was weapons for Brady and that's what they got.
    When the playoffs fina
Continue reading "The New England Patriots and Thier Failure At History"
